4th May 2017.
A close call for Ethos' Racing Car.
We are sponsoring a McLaren 570S GT4 in this year's GT racing Championship.
After a wet start for our racing car in round one, the weather couldn’t have been better for Round 3 of the GT racing car championship.
Round three took place at Rockingham Park, following on from round one at Oulton Park two weeks ago. Richard & Gareth raced with seemingly endless speed draining understeer on almost every turn in the twisty infield section, and a lack of traction on corner exit Richard Marsh and Gareth Howell found themselves at the back of the grid on day one after a chastening qualifying session.
After a great victory for Anthony Joshua against Wladimir Klitschko in the Heavyweight Title Fight, the team was inspired to fight during the second day of the championship.
Richard began proceedings and seemed to find his stride quickly, completing first overtake within seconds of the start. It was only a lap before the second overtake and not long before the next soon closing the gap between Richard and the car in front. It was clear that from the live timing screen Richard was lapping quicker than the next three cars ahead, changing the atmosphere pit side from gloom to glory.
The final hour saw Gareth take over, eleven places higher than where the team started on day one and in podium position in the GT4 pro-am class. Despite being close to that all important podium place, the team had to settle for fourth but Gareth did well to hold off the charging 53 Nissan of Le Mans winner Martin Plowman.
With a promising third round, we look forward to seeing how the team do at Snetterton on May 27th & 28th.
